Iconic car manufacturer BMW has revealed that it is to make further investments into its UK-based operations, offering recruitment agents the ideal chance to make use of new job positions to place workers. After making a £500m investment in its British factories last year, BMW is now to add a further £250m to improve performance.
With BMW wanting to capitalise on its place as the official car sponsor for the London Olympics, it is investing the new money to improve its current British factory facilities. In addition, BMW wants to expand the reach of its popular Mini model, with the money supporting the new export options.
Talking of the latest investment project, board member Harald Krueger said that Britain was an important place for BMW’s operations. “Over the last decade, Mini has become a unique global success and the BMW Group has even greater plans for the future development of the brand. This additional investment is great news for all our employees in the UK,” he said.
The BMW news will offer a great variety of employment options in the future, with recruiters able to take advantage of the investment and the new jobs that it will create. Industry body, the SSMT, recently said that there was a 3.5% rise in vehicle registrations for June, indicating that the motoring industry remains strong. With many people in the UK remaining out of work, the new BMW investment could provide the ideal opportunity to gain lucrative employment.
